Enchanting Evenings in Mallory Square

Tour this historic waterfront area during your stay at our romantic hotel near Mallory Square in Key West. Watch live street performers, shop in little boutiques, and sip drinks seaside in this popular plaza facing the Gulf of Mexico. Mallory Square comes to life as the sun goes down, perfect for guests seeking evening entertainment such as live music and more.

Visiting The Square

The square runs the length of Wall Street and is located just west of the northern end of Duval Street. Parking is difficult downtown, so we recommend guests walk, bicycle, or take the air-conditioned shuttle bus. It’s about a seven-minute bicycle ride (1.3 miles) from our hotel, which is also located between stop 13 and 14 on the Duval Loop bus. Dine at numerous restaurants in Mallory Square and in the downtown core. Ask our concierge about reservations.

EVENING SUNSETS

The plaza is home to the “Sunset Celebration,” an evening tradition that’s not to be missed during your stay at The Mermaid & The Alligator. Watching the sunset is treasured by so many locals and tourists that cruise ships are required to leave port two hours before sunset. Food vendors, local musicians, and stunt performers come together at the waterfront plaza just before sundown!

Street Performers

Walk amongst dozens of street performers that are swallowing swords, juggling, or balancing on multiple stacks of chairs! There’s live music, pets jumping through fiery hoops, mimes, and no shortage of comedians and storytellers.

Downtown Museums

In addition to the Memorial Sculpture Garden, Mallory Square is home to the Key West Shipwreck Historeum Museum and the Old Post Office and Customshouse. Discover a variety of artifacts from local shipwrecks and watch historic re-enactments by actors!
